Genomics & Epigenomics Shared Resource

Overview

The mission of the Genomics & Epigenomics Shared Resource (GESR) is to provide diverse genomic services to the GUMC research community, and the NCI-designated Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center (LCCC) Research Consortium. Within this Consortium, the GESR provides services to researchers at both the LCCC in Washington, DC, and the John Theurer Cancer Center in New Jersey, which includes research at the Hackensack Meridian Center for Discovery and Innovation. Services in the GESR include next generation sequencing (NGS), single-nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping, copy number variation (CNV) analysis, DNA methylation analysis, and mRNA/miRNA expression profiling. The GESR uses state-of-the-art instruments and assays to provide these services. Furthermore, the GESR assists users in DNA/RNA quality assessment as well as DNA plating and assay preparation, and also provides bioinformatics support for omics data analysis and training for user-operated instruments (e.g., RT-PCRs, plate readers, spectrophotometers, and densitometers).
