Bassem R. Haddad, MD is the TCBSR Director and is responsible for all aspects of operating the TCBSR. Dr. Haddad is a tenured Professor in the Department of Oncology. He is a well-established cytogeneticist and has an active molecular cytogenetics research laboratory studying various aspects of molecular changes in tumors. He has 30 years of experience with tissue culture-based studies and biorepository operations.
Key Staff
Dionyssia Claggett, MS is the Resource Manager and is responsible for day-to-day staff and Resource management and billing. She obtained her MS in Human Genetics from the University of Maryland in 2001 and has 20 years of laboratory work experience in large-scale tissue culture, cell separation from blood, DNA/RNA preparation, genotyping, molecular assays and good laboratory practices (GLP), and biorepository management. She received this experience working in a CLIA-certified molecular diagnostic laboratory prior to joining the TCBSR.

Benefits and Opportunities of Working Within the Shared Resources
In addition to the many benefits offered to all Georgetown University employees, there are a number of benefits specific to staff of the Shared Resources. Shared Resource directors will work with staff to develop a plan for continuing education and training. Opportunities offered will depend on the workload of the shared resource and the availability of resources but the Shared Resource director will make every effort to ensure that staff receive the education and training needed to move their career along.
