Spring Research Retreat (May 15, 2023)
The Georgetown Lombardi Survivorship Research Initiative held a Spring Research Retreat on Monday, May 15, 2023 with eight presentations from researchers from MedStar Georgetown Hospital, Hackensack University Medical Center, and the Lombardi Cancer Center. The goal was to brainstorm on how to apply everyone’s expertise to novel cancer survivorship research in an interactive forum. A special thank you to our patient advocates who participated, Claudia Campos (Nueva Vida), Thelma D. Jones (Thelma D. Jones Breast Cancer Fund), Julia Maues (GRASPCancer.org), Kimberly Richardson (Black Cancer Collaborative), Sharon Rivera Sánchez (Trials of Color.net), and Sherri Stahl (Georgetown Breast Cancer Advocates). The highlight of the event was the audience vote for the recipients of the $5000 Survivorship Research Initiative pilot grant, awarded to Judy Wang and Kristi Graves for their project, ‘Adapting a Self-Acupressure Intervention for Black, African American, and Latina Breast Cancer Survivors’.
