Degree Overview
Course of Study
Students admitted into this full-time graduate degree program will conduct half of their coursework on the campus of the University of the District of Columbia (UDC) and half at Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Medical Center.
During the second year of the program, students will engage in a mentored research project performing a laboratory, epidemiological or behavioral project in cancer biology prevention and control. The entire two-year program requires 36 credit hours for completion.
The partnership between the UDC and Georgetown Lombardi will provide coursework in:

- Epidemiology
- Career development
- Biostatistics
- Nutrition and cancer prevention
- Cancer genetics
- Molecular biology with wet lab
- Community outreach and cancer education
- Molecular genetics
- Behavioral aspects of cancer control
