WASHINGTON (January 4, 2015) — The Georgetown Lombardi family is saddened to learn today of Stuart Scott’s passing. This fall, we chose Stuart to receive our 2014 NFL Players Association Georgetown Lombardi Award. Stuart captured the spirit of so many of our patients. His dedication and bravery in his fight against cancer were evident during his acceptance speech for him Jimmy V Perseverance Award earlier this year at The ESPYS. And while some parts of Stuart’s cancer fight were public, those of us who have come face to face with this disease know how critical it is to have the not-so-public day-to-day support of family and friends. For Stuart, that included his daughters Taelor and Sydni, as well as his girlfriend, Kristin. To them, and his friends, we extend our deepest sympathy.
