Nancy Morgan Contributing Author to First Arts in Healthcare Textbook

Nancy Morgan, Writing Clinician and Director Emeritus of the Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center’s Arts and Humanities Program, contributed a chapter entitled, “Arts Programs for Medical Staff” to the newly released text, Managing Arts Programs in Healthcare, Patricia Dewey Lambert, editor.

The book provides an overview of what Arts in Healthcare can achieve and how to implement the arts in the most effective manner. Contributing authors represent some of the oldest U.S. Arts in Healthcare programs. This reference book is a comprehensive resource for those who are studying or engaged in arts and healthcare programs and initiatives.

Morgan states, “Lombardi was the logical choice for the medical staff program chapter. Thanks to the Prince family for their endowment of The Frederick Henry Prince IV Family Hospital Morale Program, the Arts and Humanities Program has focused resources and attention on helping staff manage stress to improve quality of life and quality of care throughout the Georgetown medical community. Our staff morale program serves as a model of excellence for the nation.”
