On-Line Leadership Training Opportunity for Early Career Faculty

The University of Texas Medical Branch Faculty Leadership Collaborative is offering a boot camp on key leadership competency areas or or early-career faculty (instructors or assistant professors with less than five years at rank). This three day workshop on January 14 – 16, 2025 from 2 to 5 PM CST via Zoom offers nine hours developed and delivered by faculty members in academic health, focused on all the principles of leadership in all the following areas:
- Negotiating Resources
- Promotion and Career Development
- Healthy Academic Habits
- Mentorship (on being a good mentee and an effective mentor)
- Resilience and Work-Life Integration
- Leadership Competencies
- Self-knowledge (Finding Your Voice)
- Communicating for Influence
- Difficult Conversations and Conflict
- Management
- Organizational Savvy
Participants will also benefit from a panel of recently-promoted associate professors who
will share their insights and lessons learned.
