1. Targeted Assays

The metabolomics core facility works with different sample matrices including cell extracts, plasma, serum, urine, fecal, tissue.

The standard assays that are developed are listed below:

  1. Absolute IDQ p180 Kit – Biocrates

  2. Amino acid analysis

  3. Biogenic amines

  4. Bile acid

  5. TCA cycle metabolites

  6. Metabolites in Single Carbon Metabolism

  7. Vitamins

  8. Nucleoties/Nucleosides

  9. Sphingolipida

  10. Phosphocholine

  11. Carnitines

New assays can be tailored according to the customer request. The pricing for the above assays will be determined by the number of samples and number of assays required. Please contact the core directors for further information.

2. Untargeted Profiling – LC-MS

The metabolomics core facility works with different sample matrices including cell extracts, cell media, plasma, serum, urine, fecal, tissue. The core facility has two Waters instruments, Xevo G2 and Xevo G2-S. 

3. GC-MS

The core facility has a Leco GC-ToF that performs untargeted profiling for the following matrices: cell extracts, cell media, plasma, serum, urine, fecal, tissue.

4. Seahorse XF Analyzer

The Seahorse XF Analyzer measures mitochondrial respiration and glycolysis simultaneously in live cells, in real time.

5. NMR

Provides nuclear magnetic resonance for chemical compounds to provide information in regards to physical and chemical properties.
