Mentors, Senior Investigators and Georgetown Lombardi Cancer Center Officials: AACR Cancer Research Early Career Award is open for your nomination

The American Association for Cancer Research has opened its nominations for the Cancer Research Early Career Award. This award recognizes Early Career Faculty at the Assistant Professor level (or equivalent) who have served as the first or corresponding author of an article published in Cancer Research during 2024–2025. A committee of scientists will select the 2026 recipient based on an evaluation of the published article’s originality, scientific impact, and overall significance measured by citations and other publication metrics within one year prior to award consideration, as well as the nominee’s curriculum vitae and nomination letter.

Friday, January 9, 2026
Eligibility Applicants Must:
- Be the first or corresponding author of an article published in Cancer Research in 2024 or 2025.
- Hold an appointment as Assistant Professor or equivalent, and their Cancer Research article must be published within 12 years of receiving their PhD/MD.
Nominations must can be submitted by:
- Mentor
- Senior investigator
- Institutional official (for example, department chair, dean, provost, or president)
