Our Mission

The mission of Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is to pursue transformative research and its applications in order to more effectively prevent and treat cancer, improving outcomes for all at the individual, local and global levels.

We shall reduce the cancer burden of the catchment area and beyond through scientific excellence, accessible care for all, training the next generation of scientists and clinicians, meaningful community partnerships, a culture of determined effort, and advocacy of policy and practice informed by our work and Georgetown University’s Jesuit values.

Our Vision

Georgetown University’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center will impact our catchment area, the nation, and beyond by advancing scientific knowledge, creativity, and application; serving all with compassion and respect; and preparing individuals to devote themselves to reducing the impact of cancer through research, innovation and improved access to transformative care.

Our Values
