The Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center Histopathology and Tissue Shared Resource (HTSR) is comprised of an administrative staff and full-time technologists under the direction of Dr. Bhaskar V.S. Kallakury.

Services

A full complement of histology services is offered. Specimens obtained from animals are processed into paraffin blocks, or for frozen tissues for sectioning. Archived human paraffin and frozen sections are provided for investigative studies and research. Tissue collection is supported by the Human Tissue Bank. Services include:

Histology: Processing, sectioning, staining.

Pathology: For studies using human tissues and animal models.

Database Searches: Tumor archives of more than 210,000 paraffin blocks from human cases.

Tumor Specimen Collection: For research and frozen tissue bank.

Immunohistochemistry and Immunofluorescence.

Molecular Studies:

• Real time PCR
• Gene cDNA microarray
• Laser microdissection.

Microarrays:

• Brightfield, immunofluroescence in tissue section.
• Automated quantitative analysis.
