About the PIRL Shared Resource
The Preclinical Research Imaging Laboratory (PIRL) provides shared imaging equipment -- and expertise in its use -- to the research community at Georgetown University.
The major components of the PIRL include the following imaging workstations:
-
Bruker 7 Tesla MRI, located in Research Building WB-01
-
Vevo 600 Micro-Ultrasound, located in DCM
-
Faxitron X-ray imaging, located in DCM
-
CRi Maestro (Optical Imaging), located in Research Building
The PIRL offers “drag and drop” full service imaging, where specimens are dropped off and all of the imaging and analyses are performed by members of the PIRL. In addition, the PIRL offers a teaching and training program, where graduate student and post doctoral associates are trained to perform their own imaging. Analyses however continues to be performed or reviewed by the PRIL staff.
