Description

The Clinical Research Management Office (CRMO) is the administrative shared resource for the conduct of clinical research at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and is under the direction of Edward P. Gelmann, MD.

The functions of the CRMO are to:

process and maintain records on all Lombardi protocols, protocol amendments, adverse drug reactions, and Lombardi Investigational New Drug Applications;
supervise the clinical research support and operational functions of the clinical Research Unit; and
insure regulatory compliance by establishing quality control measures and conducting scheduled audits.

The CRMO also facilitates the Protocol Review process by providing lists of active studies and monthly protocol accrual to the Lombardi members involved in clinical research. The CRMO has implemented a Clinical Research Database to maintain data on patients enrolled in research studies, as well as all cancer patients seen in Lombardi. Theradex audits this data on a quarterly basis to ensure data integrity.
