About Nina Hyde
The Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research was established in 1989 as a tribute to Nina Hyde. Fashion designer Ralph Lauren and the late Washington Post Company president Katharine Graham, were the founders of the center.
To launch the Nina Hyde Center, Ralph Lauren galvanized many in the fashion industry, encouraging them to join his crusade to raise money for breast cancer research. Later, the Council of Fashion Designers of America signed on as a partner in this effort. CFDA president Stan Herman and executive director Fern Mallis have helped harness the resources and creativity of the fashion industry for the benefit of the Nina Hyde Center for Breast Cancer Research.
