Enrollment in the CGN REgistry Special Studies Conducted through the CGN
|
Home » ResearchThe Cancer Genetics NEtwork (CGN)Current Status of the CGNIn 2004 the CGN transitioned its focus from recruiting individuals for the registry to obtaining annual follow-up information from individuals already enrolled in the CGN registry. As such, enrollment into the CGN at Georgetown University has ended. However, we continue to contact CGN registry participants once a year to assure that we have updated medical and family history information. Keeping this information current is vital to determining eligibility for specific research studies, referred to as special studies, conducted through the CGN. As new special studies become available through the CGN, we will recruit for participation in those studies individuals not already enrolled in the CGN in addition to recruiting from our established registry. Data already collected through the CGN remains accessible to investigators for special studies, following an approval process. In addition, the CGN has the ability to re-contact participants for approved protocols that require information not already collected by the CGN. The CGN is particularly interested in supporting special studies focused on applying knowledge learned in the lab to patient care. Investigators interested in using CGN resources should visit the web site of the CGN Statistical Coordinating Center for additional information. |
