How You Can Help

The Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center at Georgetown University Medical Center is one of 38 comprehensive cancer centers designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the only one in the nation's capital. Comprehensive cancer centers forge the nation's research agenda and collaborate to establish national standards for cancer care. The prestigious NCI appellation recognizes Lombardi's leadership in cancer research, treatment, education, prevention and outreach.

Philanthropic support is more important than ever, given the economic realities and challenges that face academic healthcare centers like Georgetown and Lombardi. It makes the critical difference between maintaining ongoing programs and pursuing new ideas and translating research advances into clinical use for countless individuals who now have or may develop cancer. You can help generate new knowledge vital to conquering cancer, a family of diseases that kills half a million Americans each year.

Contributions can be made for general support of our research and patient care initiatives, or designated for a specific purpose or need, such as breast cancer research, cancer genetics, prevention and control, palliative care, and new equipment or facilities.
