Philanthropic gifts are vital to sustaining Lombardi's role as a world-class leader in cancer care. Gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations help to maintain and advance promising research initiatives, enhance the quality of patient care, assure a state-of-the-art environment, and strengthen our role in teaching the next generation of clinicians and scientists. They also provide resources to develop innovative programs in response to community needs.
Given the economic realities and challenges that face academic healthcare centers like Georgetown and Lombardi. Your gift makes the critical difference between simply maintaining ongoing programs and pursuing new ideas and translating research advances into clinical use for countless individuals who now have or may develop cancer. You can help generate new knowledge vital to conquering cancer, a family of diseases that kills half a million Americans each year.
Support for the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center can be made in a variety of ways that offer significant tax savings and other benefits to our donors. Most contributions come to us in the form of cash, usually by check. We also welcome gifts of securities, real estate and other appreciated property, as well as those through estate plans.
Contributions can be made for general support of our research and patient care initiatives, or designated for a specific purpose or need, such as breast cancer research, gastrointestinal cancer research, health disparities, childhood cancers, and new equipment or facilities.
All gifts benefit the Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and are tax-deductible to the full extent specified by the law.
