Fundraising Tips

The first thing you should know is that fundraising is easier than you think. It takes some planning and time, but you can do it! Here are a few fundraising tips to help you get started on your fundraising journey. Once you join Team Lombardi, we'll provide additional recommendations to ensure your success with the program.

  1. Diversify your fundraising campaign by trying a variety of ways to raise money. Be creative!
  2. Ask everyone. Don't assume people would prefer not to be asked. Many people are happy to help in supporting a good cause.
  3. Remember that the money you raise will go towards funding cancer research, treatment and education. Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is dedicated to providing the most advanced treatments to their patients.
  4. Don't procrastinate. Start early so that you can concentrate all of your effort and energy to training for the marathon.

“Personally visiting the Lombardi, I got a pretty good idea of what I was running for and a big reason why I did this - the pediatrics cancer area - with toys, children's poems, drawings, and everything to let children know that they are good kids who should enjoy life, despite the gloom of x-rays, needles, and chemotherapy.  On the wall, I found this quote by Mother Theresa - We Cannot All Do Great Things, But We Can Do Small Things With Great Love juxtaposed with kid poems in the hallway.  You wonder why you are alive, why you are blessed, and what you should do about it.  I nearly raised $2,500, which helped me to surpass the $2,000 minimum for Lombardi.”
