Speaker Bios


Erin Sandene, RN, BSN, CCRC, Clinical Research Nurse for Breast Oncology, Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center

Ms. Sandene is a knowledgeable nurse advocate with a passion for the specialized field of oncology. She has been retained by private and academic institutions to design, develop and implement research protocols and processes. She was instrumental in reestablishing a satellite research clinic for The West Clinic, a private oncology clinic in Memphis, Tennessee, and developing the Pediatric Research Office in collaboration with Children’s Hospital of Omaha at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She has written 14 investigator-initiated studies, published numerous abstracts and articles, and coordinated over 60 clinical trials. She has also mentored both medical students and residents, helping spark their interests in their given fields of research. Currently employed by Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, she manages clinical research for patients diagnosed with breast, colon and hepatocellular cancers and has witnessed firsthand the amazing outcomes of many patients participating in clinical trials.
