Margaret "Mimi" Mahon, PhD, RN, FAAN, Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner, Associate Professor, School of Nursing, George Mason University, College of Health & Human Services

Dr. Mahon is as a nurse practitioner at Community Hospices in Washington, DC, and is on faculty at George Mason University. Previously, Dr. Mahon was a senior fellow at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Bioethics, and advanced practice nurse in ethics and palliative care at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and chair of the Hospital's ethics committee. She has published extensively in the areas of palliative care and ethics. Her research includes factors affecting patient and family decision making and an exploration of the critical incidents across the courses of patients' serious illnesses.
