Led by Lenna Hilakivi-Clarke, PhD, professor of Oncology, Lombardi's Center for Cancer Systems Biology will offer several educational programs targeted at training a new type of physician with a grasp of computational sciences, "omics" technologies, and a systems biologic approach to medicine.
The combined MD/MS degree is designed for students interested in taking a leadership role in integrating systems biology and biomedical science knowledge into clinical practice, and setting the stage for more effectively bridging research and clinical care. Our MS in Systems Biology is for practicing physicians and scientists wishing to learn about the integration of systems biology into clinical practice and research.
The center will also provide on-going training opportunities for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows through an interdisciplinary program in Tumor Biology. A series of professional certificates in cancer systems biology will also be offered.
